Our experience with sheep wool insulation dates back to the 90's. Many things have changed since then, elementary things like the high density, the horizontal fibre orientation and the commitment to sheep wool remained constant.
Our call for high densities is explained by the functional optimum of material usage to benefit that only exists there, while the horizontal fibre orientation aids to keep heat loss due to convection and conduction to a minimum when compared to other methods of laying fleece.
We take advantage of the wool fibre's characteristic to cling to each other because of their scaly structure. It allows us to produce high quality and fully natural insulation and construction material just by needling. In that case, the end product does not contain any other substances except sheep wool and moth repellent. Product examples are klimalan plus, klimalan filz, klimalan pro and klimalan stopfwolle.
Beyond that, the market demanded materials that were on par with conventional insulation materials in all aspects - from their technical data to their installation. This led to the development of a specialty product like klimalan iso. Thanks to the properties of sheep wool, those products can eclipse their conventional rivals.
